Terms & Conditions


All prices are non negotiable and are based on the size and design of your bespoke cake. Changes in design and size will alter the final price of the wedding/celebration cake.

Following your consultation / enquiry, your quote is valid for up to a month, but no deposit/ confirmation means that your date will not be held. Paying your deposit will secure this price & the slot in the diary.


Wedding Cakes – A non-refundable €100 ‘Save the Date’ deposit is required to secure your Wedding date with Cake Superior.

Celebration Cakes, Cupcakes & Flower Bouquets – A 50% deposit of the cake price is required on all celebration orders over €100. If your deposit is not paid within 24 hours of bank details being provided we reserve the right to cancel any previous arrangements.


Wedding Cakes – The final balance of all wedding cakes must be paid within 2 weeks of the wedding date. Late payments may mean changes may need to be made to the final design. If payments are not made within 1 week of the wedding date the wedding cake will be cancelled in full, the payments made will not be returned.

Celebration Cakes, Cupcakes or Flower Bouquets – Any Celebration Order that has required a deposit to be paid, the remainder of the money must be paid up to 2 weeks before the cake is required.


If cancellation of an order takes place we reserve the right to retain your non refundable deposit. If cancellation takes place less than 7 days before the event then we reserve the right to seek 100% of the order value.

Cancellation must be made in writing (by letter or email) to Cake Superior and will only be deemed to take effect from the date your letter/email is received at our premises.

If you postpone the event we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation (see above).

We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.


It is your responsibility to read & check your wedding cake/celebration cake/cupcake order form thoroughly; any amendments to design should be made in writing or email.

If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design.

In very rare circumstances we reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control, may compromise the quality of the finished cake, e.g. Melting due to weather. You will be given notice of any changes made. Unfortunately we are unable to take any responsibility for venues without air conditioning should the cake melt once set up.

Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur from the design requested / picture supplied i.e. colour, flavour, design etc.


Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage and time basis. Alternatively, cakes or cupcakes can be collected from my premises. However, I work from my home, so I will not facilitate any collections later than 7.30pm.

It is your responsibility to treat your delivery/collection time like a hospital, hair, nail appointment etc. Be there on time, if for some reason you are running late, please text or ring me to let me know. If you fail to show for a delivery after 15 minutes, I will make contact with you, if you do not answer, I will not wait. You must collect the cake from me at a time that is convenient for both parties.

If you are late for collection, and have failed to make contact, I will continue on with any other errands I must do and therefor, you may not get your cake until late if you do not make contact. Failure to collect the cake on that day without any contact to make new arrangements, will result in a cake re-sale or donation. If you fail to collect any order from me without contact for the reason as to why you didn’t get your order, I will not honour another booking from you again.

If you choose delivery, it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition prior to the start of your event. However, we ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (e.g. traffic conditions, car accident) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays. It is your responsibility to ensure you inform us of your correct ceremony and event time plus the Eircode of the venue.

We cannot be held liable for any damage that is rendered to the cake at the venue once we have left the premises. It is with this in mind that we require somebody responsible, to check that they are happy with the cake before we leave. A manager or representative of the hotel, will be asked to sign a form, to ensure they will look after the cake, once I have left the premises .

If you chose to collect the cake, we will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises. We recommend that you place your cake in the boot on a non-slip mat, once transporting the cake. To ensure your cake is as fresh as possible, we recommend it be collected the day before or on the day of the event.

Best Before

Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event, we cannot guarantee its quality if it’s consumed more than 48 hours after the event. Our cakes are made entirely of natural ingredients, so we’d like to remind you that because of this they will not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes, which contain additives and preservatives to ensure their prolonged life. Freezing the cake however, preserves the taste of the sponge and icing as much as feasibly possible, but please bear in mind that it will affect the visual appearance of the icing, as condensation will form upon defrosting.

Food hygiene recommendations recommend that food should only be frozen for a maximum of 3 months

If you plan to keep any of the cakes tiers, please advise us what cake boxes you would like to be left on site (so that you can safely transport them the following day). Otherwise we shall remove all cake boxes from the venue to ensure we leave it as tidy as possible.

Cake Stand Hire

Should you like to hire a cake stand or decorations, then a deposit is required prior to release.
Deposit amounts vary dependant upon the value of the item being hired.
Please make arrangements to ensure items hired are safely returned to us within 7 days of the cake release.
Once we receive the hired item back we will release the deposit held subject to no breakages.
